
MetroWest UniServ is a link between your local association and Education Minnesota. It gives locals an opportunity to communicate with representatives of the Education Minnesota Executive Board, field staff, state officers, and others within our organization.

What is MetroWest UniServ? |

MetroWest UniServ is an intermediary organization between the local organization and Ed Minnesota to which many school districts belong. Our Metro West Uniserve provides support and training for the teachers in the member locals. Sometimes it serves as just an information source. More often it serves for training in negotiations, teacher rights, professional development etc. Orono has a representative and a member. Orono has two representatives that serve on the Metro West UniServ governing board.
How does UniServ help me? · MetroWest UniServis a link between Education Minnesota and our local. · MetroWest UniServ
support and supplement the activities of the locals. · MetroWest UniServ
offers training opportunities to strengthen, promote, and advance the
teaching profession such as; new teachers, member rights, continuing
education, negotiating, grassroots advocacy, treasurer, etc… · MetroWest UniServ
reimburses 50% of local training costs, up to $2,000.00. · We
share stories and challenges happening in our locals. · MetroWest UniServ
meets monthly with Education Minnesota board members and field staff who
constantly run interference for our members. · We
lobby together for lower class size, staff development, better working
conditions, etc… · We
share resources like busses and transportation to events, ideas for
negotiation, membership strategies and much more! What are the Benefits of joining Education Minnesota? · Advocacy:
Membership provides a formidable insurance policy as well as legal
representation free of charge in the event that either become
necessary. EM also provides a strong voice for better schools and
better conditions for teachers. · Professional
Development: Both online and in person, EM provides excellent resources to
support teachers and enhance instruction. · Professional
Support: As an organization of thousands, EM allows teachers to connect
with one another, share experiences, and support each other. · Recognition:
Every year, EM recognizes the Teacher of the Year in Minnesota and honors
teachers who are making a difference in their classrooms every day. |
